“So there was this one car at the parallel spots at my campus. The car owner got in it and cranked their car. I was already passing them so I had to come back around. There was a truck following me but from a distance. I knew what they were doing— if I miss a person leaving a space, then that the person behind you time to stop and snag the spot.
I was really hoping the person wouldn’t leave that spot until the truck drove past. Luckily it did. So I hurried back around and towards the spot, but the truck technically didn’t leave that lane and they noticed what I was doing so they hurriedly backed into the space, and terribly too.
Mind you, this was a huge Texas truck and they were backing in obnoxiously fast at an angle. So guess what happened? The truck collided with the car, but they proceeded to park. The truck was without a scratch but the car was dented and scraped.
I ‘drove away’ to make them think I didn’t see anything and park elsewhere. Then waited for the person to leave their truck. Once they went into the building, I drove back that way (and found a decent spot) in which I proceed to write a letter consisting of the make and model of the truck, license plate, and a note stating that the butthead hit their car. I also recorded footage of the person examining the car and truck before the person went back in that truck to grab their backpack and head into the building. I left my number in case they want the footage.
I ended up getting a text and a request for the video. After I sent it, she ended up FaceTiming me so I could discuss what happened. She then ended up telling me she knew exactly who it was because the guy came in late to class and then apologized because he backed into someone’s car and wanted to make sure he left no damage. She even overheard him explaining the parking situation and that it sounded similar to my story.
She ended up reporting the incident to her insurance company and got her damages covered by that butthead’s insurance. Never seen that truck parked in my spot ever since.”
